Annilese Miskimmon was appointed Artistic Director of English National Opera and the London Coliseum in May 2020. She was previously Director of Opera for Norwegian Opera and Ballet and before that Artistic Director and General Manager of Danish National Opera. After studying English Literature at Christ’s College, Cambridge and Arts Management at City University at the Barbican, London, she first joined Glyndebourne Festival and Tour as Consultant Associate Director then became the Artistic Director of Opera Theatre Company, the National Touring Opera of Ireland. She continues to work as a freelance director, with recent and upcoming debuts including productions for Oslo, Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona and Folkoperan Stockholm. She commentates and writes regularly on opera for Norwegian, Irish, UK and Danish national and international television, radio and press.
