Christian Illies occupies the Chair of Philosophy at Otto-Friedrich University in Bamberg, and is also Visiting Professor of Philosophy and Ethics at TU Hamburg-Harburg. After graduating in biology, philosophy and art history, he went on to earn a PhD in Philosophy at the University of Oxford. His areas of interest include political anthropology, the ethics of manipulation, philosophy of biology, evolution and ethics, and the philosophy or architecture. Among his book titles are Darwin; The Grounds of Ethical Judgement. New Transcendental Arguments in Moral Philosophy; Philosophische Anthropologie im biologischen Zeitalter. Zur Konvergenz von Moral und Natur (Philosophical Anthropology in the Biological Age. The Convergence of Morality and Nature) and Philosophy of Architecture.
