Flutist and founder of the International Contemporary Ensemble (ICE), winner of the Ensemble of the Year Award in 2014 from Musical America Worldwide, and the 2010 Trailblazer Award from the American Music Center for its artist-driven organizational model.
Chase recently began Density 2036, a 23-year project to commission a new body of repertory for the flute leading up to the 100th anniversary of Edgard Varèse’s Density 21.5.
She has given the world premieres of over 100 new works for flute and in 2012 was awarded a MacArthur Genius Fellowship.
