Adjunct Professor in the Department of Wildlife Ecology and Conservation at the University of Florida (United States). He has served as editor-in-chief and consulting editor of Conservation Biology, the sector’s most influential journal, and spent part of his career at the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory of the University of Georgia. His publications include the books Principles of Conservation Biology, Ecosystem Management: Adaptive, Community based Conservation, and Ecology and Evolution of Livebearing Fishes (Poeciliidae).
