Georg Gottlob is Professor of Informatics at the University of Calabria and Emeritus Professor of Informatics at the University of Oxford, as well as a former Professor of Computer Science at Vienna University of Technology. His research interests include databases, knowledge representation, artificial intelligence, computational logic, algorithms and complexity, web data processing, theoretical computer science, and computational graph theory. Author of over 250 scientific papers, he is a former editor-in-chief of Artificial Intelligence Communications and editor of Communications of the ACM, as well as serving on the editorial boards of the Journal of the ACM and several other scholarly publications. He holds the Wittgenstein Award of the Austrian National Science Fund, is a Fellow of the Royal Society and the Association of Computing Machinery, and a member of the Austrian Academy of Sciences, the German Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina) and the Academia Europaea.
