Hongkun Park is Mark Hyman Jr. Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Physics at Harvard University, and a former member of the Broad Institute launched as a partnership between Harvard and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology to conduct interdisciplinary research in biomedicine. His group focuses on fundamental studies of nanoscale electrical, optical, and plasmonic devices that operate based upon quantum mechanical principles, as well as the development of new nano- and microelectronic tools that can interface with living cells, cell networks, and organisms. Listed as a Web of Science Highly Cited Researcher since 2018, in 2021 he received the Scientist of the Year Award bestowed by the Korean- American Scientists and Engineers Association and the Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies. He is also a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science and A. R. Gordon Distinguished Lecturer at the University of Toronto.
