Distinguished Professor of Biology at Rutgers University (United States). Her research topics include the adaptive significance of social behavior in vertebrates, the effects of heavy metals on neurobehavioral development in birds, ecological risk, biomonitoring, the human dimensions of vertebrate ecology, and human exposure from seafood consumption. She holds the Brewster Medal of the American Ornithologists’ Union and is a Fellow of a number of learned societies including the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
