Professor of Public Policy and Economics at the Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, New York University (United States). He is also Managing Director of the Financial Access Initiative, a research consortium with members from Yale, Harvard and New York universities focused on expanding access to quality financial services for low-income individuals. He has chaired the United Nations Committee on Poverty Statistics and is author of Portfolios of the Poor: How the World’s Poor Live on $2 a Day.
