Professor of Economics at the University of Bristol (United Kingdom). A macroeconomist with a special interest in growth and development issues, his current research focuses on the interactions between growth and labor markets, and understanding differences in development levels across countries. He is a Council Member of the Royal Economic Society and editor of publications such as Journal of Development Economics and Journal of Economic Growth.
