Chief of the Division of Hematology/Oncology of the Massachusetts General Hospital, Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School (United States), Director of the Institute of Oncology at Vall d’Hebron University Hospital (Barcelona), and a past president of the European Society of Medical Oncology. He engages in breast cancer research and is currently working on the development of therapies targeting the epidermal growth factor receptor. Holder of the American Association Cancer Research-Rosenthal Family Foundation Award, among other honors.
