José Manuel Gutiérrez is a CSIC Research Professor and Director of the Institute of Physics of Cantabria (IFCA) (CSIC-University of Cantabria). His research interest lies in the analysis and modeling of regional climate variability, including downscaling methods geared to the development of regional climate information for the study of climate change impacts and adaptation. He is also interested in the development of climate services, working with organizations like the FAO or COPERNICUS, the European Union’s Earth Observation Program. A member of the Science Advisory Team of CORDEX, an international initiative to advance and coordinate the science and application of regional climate downscaling, he is also coordinator of the Atlas and Interactive Atlas of the Sixth IPCC Assessment Report (AR6 Working Group I), as well as forming part of the AR6 Task Group on Data Support (TG-Data).
