Mario Piattini is Professor of Computer Languages and Systems at the University of Castilla-La Mancha (UCLM), where he co-leads the Alarcos Research Group, focusing on the quality of information systems. His areas of interest include software engineering, quantum computing, IT governance and audit and data engineering. He has served as director of the UCLM-Indra Software. Research and Development Center, as coordinator of the Computer Science and Technology Area of the National Evaluation and Foresight Agency (ANEP) and as head of the Institute of Technology and Information Systems (ITSI), also at UCLM. One of Spain’s ten best computer science researchers in 2022, according to the ranking drawn up by Research.com, he also appears on the Stanford University list of the world’s most widely cited scientists. He holds the Aritmel Prize of the Sociedad Científica Informática de España (SCIE).
