BIO
Ning Lin is Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Princeton University (United States), a position she combines with associated faculty appointments at the same university’s High Meadows Environmental Institute and the Andlinger Center for Energy and the Environment. Her research interests lie in natural hazards and risk analysis, wind engineering, coastal engineering, and climate change impact and adaptation, with a current focus on hurricane risk analysis. She studies these phenomena from the standpoint of science, engineering, and policy in order to explore how they change with changing climate, and how best to mitigate their impact on society. In 2025 she was distinguished with the Walter Orr Roberts Lectureship of the American Meteorological Society, and she has also received a Faculty Early Career Development Award from the U.S. National Science Foundation and a Frontiers of Engineering Award from the National Academy of Engineering.
