Richard Blundell holds the David Ricardo Chair of Political Economy at University College London. He is also Co-Director of the ESRC Centre for the Microeconomic Analysis of Public Policy at the London-based Institute for Fiscal Studies (IFS), where he served as Research Director from 1986 to 2016. His areas of research interest range from microeconometrics and consumer behavior to taxation and innovation by way of labor supply, savings and inequality. A former co-editor of Econometrica and the Journal of Econometrics, he has also served as president of the European Economic Association, the Econometric Society, the Society of Labor Economists and the Royal Economic Society. His distinctions include the 2014 BBVA Foundation Frontiers of Knowledge Award in Economics, Finance and Management and the 2020 Jacob Mincer Award of the Society of Labor Economists.
